A change for the better.

I do truly believe in Feng Shui. I believe you need harmony for happiness, wealth, and to prosper. I never knew how to start though. This book has really gave me some great ideas about how to get started getting my life on the right track by using feng shui. I already started trying to rearrange my living room the get a positive flow. It will take time and practice but if you use the advice in this book you will be able to master feng shui and bring some peace and harmony into your life. I believe it also brings beauty and light into your life also. I received this book at a discount for an honest review. I recommend it for anyone needing a change for the better in there life.

Not worth the effort

Am I missing something?!? I see many great reviews for this book and it's the most useless Feng Shui book I've ever read. And I could only manage half way through! Anyone who has studied Feng Shui for more than a few years will not be impressed. If you're interested in learning Eight Directions School (which this is) there are much better volumes to choose.
My copy was so badly written, obviously it was never proofed before printing. And where are the credentials? Anyone who thinks they're expert enough to write a book should be willing to put in some background information. Yes, there are some basic tips (some of which are incorrect) but there's not enough detailed info. Why tell the reader they need to know their personal element, auspicious directions and kua number and then not tell them how to do that? At least add a birthdate chart in the appendix so the reader doesn't have to search out additional sources.
This is the only item I've ever had to return to Amazon. There are over fifty Feng Shui volumes on my bookshelf,and I didn't care to add this one to the collection. Again, if you're just investigating Feng Shui, this may be a valid purchase, but not really worth the money!!!

Ward Stewart, a not so recent graduate, has lived his own financial life as described in this book in his new book, “The Recent Graduate’s Guide to Accumulating Wealth." Since moving to Denver with school loans far exceeding his assets, Mr. Stewart followed the advice of other successful men and women and increased his own net worth into the millions. Following a career as a corporate employee, he left to create his own successful business, investing first in his own education and career, and then investing in the stock market and real estate to attain his financial success. Mr. Stewart wrote this book to share these lesson with his children, grandchildren, as well as any other person interested in achieving financial success. In this book he describes the journey by which he and many other millionaires have started with nothing and accumulated significant wealth. His book provides a detailed road map on how you too can become successful in your own life.

I have literally dozens of books of this genre. I have invested successfully in securities and real estate (individual residences, small apartments, strip centers) Unfortunately, this book was not available. I read all of the books referenced in The Recent Graduate's Guide to Accumulating Wealth. They are good, but this book is the short version that a young person needs to get started

This is the best overall book on saving and prudent investing I've seen to date (after 40 + years). Here's what I like:
1 It's to the point, and offers specific methods of investing - in real estate and securities
2 It's practical for everyone - not just people who already have money, but those with very little
3 It speaks to the real key to wealth, which is so simple, that few ever get it - spend less than you earn.
4 The reader doesn't need a financial calculator to get started
5 It's written by someone else, so I can give it to my children and my nephews with a much better chance that they
will actually read it.

This is my new go to gift for graduates -- high school and college. Not all of them will connect with the concepts, but to the few that do, this book is a real gold mine.

Uneven and generic

These nine stories come from Aesop, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, and other sources of folk tales. The re-tellings are uneven, the four authors vary from traditional to modernizing, and the nine illustrators are faithful to the re-tellings. Catherine McCafferty's version of "The Ant and the Grasshopper" has a happy ending, in which the grasshopper mends his ways. Lisa Harkrader's "City Mouse and Country Mouse" loses all its power by concluding with a "to each his own" ending; however she did better with "The Nightingale," preserving some of the charm of the Andersen tale. Jennifer Boudart's "Brave Little Tailor" (Grimm) and "Brownie of Blednock" (Scottish folk tale) are well-crafted, age-appropriate renderings of the originals. All of the preceding are published authors; I was unable to find any information on Brian Conway, the author of four of these tales, but I find it curious that (1) Saint George has no cross whatsoever, no mention of Christ; (2) "The Golden Goose" ended abruptly, as if he'd given up on the story; (3) "The Wild Swans" glossed over the element of witchcraft, and (4) Morgiana ("Ali Baba") is not a slave. Getting a little generic, are we? Children love stories with morals, and this collection gets a "C".

Not your same old story book. Pages are thick, illustrations are nicely done, and the stories aren't half bad.
