Great for soccer fans and sports lawyers.

Interesting and informative for anyone interested in the legal and business structures around American and world soccer (football). Easily scanned for those seeking the big picture plus plenty of details for those who want a deep dive.
My favorite stories relate to the old NASL and the realities of the situation back in the day. Makes the current picture seem healthy, if not miraculous, by comparison.
My only regret is that there's no chapter regarding FIFA's current situation, but I'm guessing that will be a whole other book.

I really think this book is a blast to read if you like soccer and studied law or are at least genuinely ...

Most of the book is very academic, except for the foreword (a part that is downright hilarious and a must-read). Academic or not, I really think this book is a blast to read if you like soccer and studied law or are at least genuinely curious about different areas of law. It covers a very wide variety of subject matters and touches on many different areas of the law. Building on that, this book not only taught me a few things I didn't know about the formation of the modern game from a legal perspective, but it also helped me refresh in areas of law I hadn't touched since having studied for the bar exam as well as learn a few new areas of law.
In addition, definitely take the author's suggestion and feel free to skip around if one chapter does not appeal to you as much as others.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Little bit dry, but interesting for soccer fans

This book goes through the various court cases, both in the USA and in Europe, that have significantly influenced the sport and business of soccer.
If you're a geeky soccer fan (as opposed to a more casual fan of the beautiful game) this book will likely interest you. If not, you'll probably think it's boring.
I liked it.
